Role Purpose:

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Driver/Storeman at our Steelpoort branch, responsible for managing the ordering, preparation, receiving, and delivery of stock to both internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate unwavering commitment to zero harm behaviors, supporting the development of a world-class safety culture.
  • Adhere to Safety, Health, Environment (SHE), and housekeeping requirements at the branch and customer sites consistently.
  • Comply with Duty of Care Policy at all times.
  • Load stock/spares onto the system.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing stock.
  • Pick, bin, and load customer orders.
  • Pack and crate stock for customer orders.
  • Maintain general warehouse stock control.
  • Inspect parts for potential defects.
  • Load and unload trucks.
  • Ensure correct identification of Weir parts.
  • Handle dispatch, delivery, and collection of stock.
  • Perform cycle counts on stock.
  • Maintain and operate Weir delivery vehicles diligently.
  • Manage stores/stock effectively.
  • Administer store-related tasks.
  • Liaise with Admin and Service Centre staff.
  • Work standby and overtime as required.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • Matric (Grade 12) Certificate or equivalent; candidates with a combination of education and experience demonstrating the ability to fulfill the objectives will be considered.
  • Relevant tertiary certificate or equivalent (warehousing/logistics/stock control) is advantageous.
  • 2-3 years of related experience in warehousing/logistics/stock control.
  • Valid driver’s license (C1) and Professional Driver’s Permit (PrDP).
  • Valid forklift and overhead crane licenses.
  • Computer literate – Microsoft Office suite (knowledge of ERP Software, e.g., SAP, Infor LN, is an advantage).
  • Clear communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Problem-solving ability.
  • Demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Ability to follow instructions and respond to management direction.
