Job Description:
Motus FORD KEMPTON PARK has a rewarding opportunity for a LEVEL 3 APPRENTICE (MOTOR MECHANIC) at our Ford Kempton Park branch. This role is perfect for individuals eager to train and qualify as a Motor Mechanic. We are seeking candidates to engage in all aspects of the Apprenticeship program, aiding in vehicle repairs under the guidance of a qualified Technician, meeting MerSETA trade requirements, mastering level tests, and qualifying within a maximum of 2 years.
Position Overview:
Participate in all aspects of the Apprenticeship program, including assisting with vehicle repairs under Technician supervision, meeting MerSETA trade requirements, mastering level tests, and qualifying within a maximum of 2 years.
Specific Role Responsibilities:
Key Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Attend scheduled technical/level training courses.
- Assist with vehicle repairs to gain practical experience under Technician supervision.
- Prepare thoroughly for level tests to qualify within the maximum 2-year timeframe.
- Maintain housekeeping standards by keeping tools and equipment clean and in good order, and ensuring a clean work area.
- Adhere to workplace safety rules, conduct guidelines, and protocols.
- Perform other reasonable duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
Candidates must have:
- Grade 12 with Pure Maths and Physical Science passed at a minimum mark of 50%.
- Valid, unendorsed driver’s license.
- Clear criminal record.
- Apprentice Level 2 Motor Mechanic competency with mechanical insight and technical skills exposure.

Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Competently operate manufacturer diagnostic equipment/computer for accessing information.
- Physically fit for heavy work, capable of completing duties associated with the role.
- Enjoy working with hands.
- Able to work in noisy environments.
- Good eyesight and hand-eye coordination.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and motor vehicle fault-finding skills.
- Mental alertness.
- Sound English communication and writing skills for accurately recording findings and work on job cards and accessing repair information in OEM bulletins and online systems.
- Meticulous and accurate.
- Team player.
- Energetic and action-oriented.
