Job Post: Artisans Learnerships at Gold Fields South Deep Gold Mine

Gold Fields South Deep Gold Mine is excited to offer aspiring employees and prospective applicants from our host communities the opportunity to join our formal Engineering Learnership program. This program is designed for South Africans who are passionate about pursuing a career in engineering and becoming skilled artisans in the mining industry.

Program Overview:

The learnership program combines practical work-based training with external technical education, equipping learners with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the dynamic world of mining engineering. Upon successful completion of the program, learners will qualify as artisans, ready to contribute to the industry’s success.

Minimum Requirements:

– Grade 12 qualification with Mathematics and Science.

– Full N2 qualifications with four subjects: Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Science, N2 Trade Theory, and Engineering Drawing.

– Medical fitness as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre, including passing a Heat Tolerance Screening test and other assessments as required for the role.

Key Responsibilities:

– Engage in practical on-the-job training in engineering disciplines.

– Participate in external technical training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.

– Follow safety protocols and guidelines at all times.

– Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals and objectives.
