As a learner in our horticulture program, you will have the chance to work alongside experienced professionals and gain hands-on experience in the maintenance and cultivation of our beautiful zoo gardens. From planting and pruning to pest control and landscaping, you will be exposed to various aspects of horticulture, allowing you to develop a well-rounded skill set.

Key Requirements:

• Grade 12 certificate (or equivalent)
• Genuine interest in horticulture and the natural environment
• Strong work ethic and ability to work well within a team
• Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual labor
• Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude

During the 12-month learnership, you will receive a monthly stipend of R3000. While this may not be a substantial amount, we believe that the experience and knowledge gained will far outweigh the financial aspect. This learnership is designed to provide you with a solid foundation in horticulture, paving the way for future career opportunities within the field.
