POSITION PURPOSE
The role involves the cleaning and upkeep of the building, equipment, fixtures, and furnishings. Tasks include regular cleaning activities like vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors, as well as dusting, washing walls, doors, and windows, and emptying trash. Additionally, the position provides support to service personnel when required.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- Completion of Matric
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
- Familiarity with fundamental cleaning techniques and procedures.
- Understanding of relevant safety and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) requirements.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Previous experience in cleaning or janitorial roles would be beneficial.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Keen attention to detail.
- Capable of following instructions and working independently.
- Flexibility to work on weekends and evenings.
- Proficient in the use of basic cleaning tools such as vacuums, mops, brooms, etc.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assumes responsibility for efficiently performing designated cleaning tasks. a. Conducts vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping of floors. b. Dusts and washes walls, tables, doors, light fixtures, vending machines, and windows. c. Cleans and disinfects toilets, urinals, showers, tile floors, and various fixtures. d. Regularly replenishes soap, toilet paper, and towel dispensers. e. Empties trash containers as required and maintains the cleanliness of waste receptacles. f. Addresses litter, both inside and outside, as necessary.
- Assumes responsibility for fostering effective communication, coordination, and relationships with Company personnel, management, and service providers. a. Provides assistance to Company personnel and service providers when necessary. b. Keeps management informed about area activities, significant issues, and cleaning-related concerns.
- Assumes responsibility for maintaining polite and professional interactions with clients and the general public.
- Assumes responsibility for additional duties as needed or assigned. a. Undertakes miscellaneous cleaning and specific tasks as assigned. b. Ensures facility security is maintained.
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS
- Building facilities and equipment exhibit cleanliness, order, and proper maintenance.
- Cleaning tasks are completed safely and promptly, adhering to established standards, schedules, and procedures.
- Identifies and resolves or reports cleaning needs and issues promptly.
- Coordinates cleaning functions effectively with Company operations and offers assistance to other personnel as required.
- Management is kept well-informed about area activities and significant issues.
- Maintains effective and courteous relations with Company visitors, vendors, and clients.
