The Picker/Packer is tasked with picking and packing goods for incoming and outgoing shipments in the warehouse. They prepare items for dispatch by weighing, labeling, and packing them for delivery. Additionally, the Picker/Packer will load and unload vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Receive, unpack, and inspect all incoming stock.
- Accurately pick orders based on picking slips.
- Ensure correct stock is issued and dispatched daily.
- Fulfill customer orders promptly.
- Inspect products for damages and report any issues to management.
- Build and maintain product knowledge to ensure accurate picking and packing.
- Support warehouse administrators with monthly stock counting and variance reviews.
- Handle back orders and communicate fulfillment issues proactively with warehouse administrators.
- Report any mechanical issues with equipment.
- Suggest potential improvements to the warehouse manager.
- Adhere to safety practices and work safely.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work area.
- Participate in conducting warehouse stock counts as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Grade 12.
- Relevant Qualification.
- 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Previous warehouse experience.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety regulations.
- Familiarity with hand-held scanning devices.
- Physical strength and stamina.
- Excellent organizational skills.
